Rake, bag, do it again. It's that time of year again...
The Town leaf collection will take place over the next four weeks starting Monday, November 16 and end the week of December 7, 2009 for all neighborhoods outside of Greenfield Hill. There is no specific daily pickup schedule. Each week bags must be curbside by Monday by 6:00 a.m. to assure pick-up some time that week.
Leaves must be in biodegradable paper bags. Do NOT seal the paper bags. The following will NOT be picked up: loose leaves, brush, branches, wood, grass or leaves in plastic bags. Bags placed outside of the Town right-of-way (along driveways, inside stonewalls or fences for example) will NOT be picked up.
Greenfield Hill residents should telephone the Town Garage at 256-3177 on Monday, November 16, 2009 to arrange for leaf pickup before Thanksgiving. Greenfield Hill residents may call the following week of November 23, 2009 for one additional pick-up.
Residents are reminded to not rake leaves into the gutter or street so that the leaves don't block the catch basins. Residents should also make an effort to keep the catch basin grates in the vicinity of their home clear of leaves and debris to prevent local flooding.
