ONE BOOK ONE TOWN EVENT: Farmer's Market
Friday, March 04, 2011

As part of Fairfield's One Book One Town celebration, Pequot Library will is hosting local farmers, beekeepers, cheesemakers, wineries and more during a Farmers Market at the Library. Participants will be selling their goods and giving short presentations on their craft, for example, how they make cheese or grow wine grapes and on sustainability and 'eating green'. Weather permitting, actual farm animals will be out on their front lawn.
Saturday, March 05, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Supporting local farmers and artisans is a great way to insure that these small farms and industries continue to exist. As Jonathan Safran Foer talks about in his book, Eating Animals, Fairfield's One Book One Town 2011 choice, food safety, the ethical treatment of animals, and sustainability are important considerations as we choose what we eat.
The Farmer's Market will take place in the Auditorium; the Speakers will be in the Main Reading Room.
