It’s the Year of the Dragon and NBC’s Al Roker and ABC’s Deborah Roberts are coming to Westport to celebrate. It’s the annual Near & Far Aid fundraiser, one of Westport’s most anticipated parties of the year. Roker and Roberts will serve as your emcees for an elegant evening where no detail is overlooked.
Friday, March 2, Mitchell’s of Westport will be transformed into a lavish, authentic Asian-themed celebration. Lion and Dragon dancing, folk art performances and gourmet Chinese delicacies by Chef Bill Kaliff, wine and spirits in abundance, and a multi-media fashion presentation will leave you feeling transported.
The gala auction is known for superior auction items and experiences, this year’s auction won’t disappoint. Bid on a trip to Women’s Finals at Wimbledon or to an Aman Resort in China.
And there’s no reason to cut the evening’s fun short. Post-gala, guests can head to the exclusive after party at Shake Shack, where Tribe Called Quest DJ Ali Shaeed Muhammad will keep you moving until midnight.
But all the fun serves an important purpose. Near & Far Aid, an all volunteer organization, has served Fairfield County’s poorest for more than 65 years. Since 2000, Near & Far Aid has contributed over $11 million to more than 100 agencies in an effort to provide food, clothing, shelter and educational opportunities to our neighbors who struggle the most.
