Best of Fairfield
Pizza Joints

Suzy loves pie, and she mean the kind with tomato paste and lotsa cheese. Here are her favorite hang-outs:
Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana (AKA Pepes Pizza)
So glad Pepe decided to open a branch of his 80-year-old pizza joint down here in Fairfield. The brick-oven pizza is the best in town. Leave lots of time for takeout (place your phone order in the afternoon). For eat-in try Monday nights or you'll be waiting for at least 30 minutes since they don't take reservations. It's quaint that Pepe still makes the Original Tomato Pie but c'mon you gotta have cheese on a pizza, Pepe! So don't feel compelled to go with tradition. The veggie special rocks.
238 Commerce Drive, #333-PEPE (7373)
Nauti Dolphin
Taking a late train home from Grand Central and not interested in making dinner? Phone the Nauti Dolphin, tell them what train you're on and they'll have your pie ready when you arrive. Make sure to try Suzy's favorite, the white clam pizza. If you have guests, you'll be hard-pressed to find a stool in this 400 sq. foot establishment, so order in or pick up.
Fairfield Train Station (New Haven-bound side), #256-1877
Southport Pizza House
On a diet and craving pizza, eat guiltlessly with the outstanding Salad Pizza (no cheese). At this throw-back hole-in-the-wall on the main drag in Southport (across from Switzer's Pharmacy), the crust is distinctively thin so don't feel bloated after eating a large cheese all by yourself. What's better than that?
293 Pequot Avenue, #259-9843
Avellinos
When Suzy is looking for a little something special in a pie the Pizza Rustica is her all time fave. Imagine....caramelized onions, roasted red peppers and grilled chicken. Eat in or take out it's all delish.
1813 Post Road, # 254-2339
Mike's Pizza of Fairfield
A Fairfield U favorite (and the college set knows their pizza), right in the center of town its an easy stop when you're out running errands. Delicious thin pizza, meatball subs and mozzarella sticks made to order personally by Mike (warning - he's a little on the crabby side). Just don't pull out your American Express, Mike's is cash only.
1560 Post Road, #255-2292
Luigi's Pizza
Something about this place reminds you of your childhood days, probably because it's been serving pizza to Fairfield families since forever. A Friday night staple in Suzy's house is the large cheese w/ a caesar salad. The crust is so good there's never any left for Suzy's big old golden retriever.
170 Post Road, Fairfield, CT 06824, #259-7816
Primo Pizza
When Suzy is looking to save a dime, the only choice is Primo Pizza. Half-off Monday - Thursday (pick-up only) its the best deal in town! Get the cheese for the kids and enjoy your favorite guilt free!
2424 Black Rock Turnpike, #374-2400
Fat Cat Pie Company
Not a Fairfield joint, but worth the drive to Norwalk. Written up in Food & Wine '06. All organic toppings on the thin crunchy crust. Warm atmosphere w/ exposed brick walls. Just pizza, salad and a wine list right out of Napa.
