Fairfield Basketball Camp
Join Fairfield Warde's Girl's Basketball coach June 25-28 as he breaks it down to the basics.  For ages 4-14, Coach Danko believes in teaching the basics while having fun!  $195 per camper, contact d.danko@fairfield.k12.ct.us.  Space is limited to the first 80 campers.

Missoula Children's Theatre-Fairfield U
This renowned theater program offers six sessions working on 5 different plays. Sixty young people, grades 1-12, will be registered in each weekly section. The week culminates with a performance featuring every enrolled child. Performances take place each Friday at 7:30 p.m.  A lottery will be held March 7th for spots in the Camp.  Those registration forms not received by 2 p.m. on March 7 will be placed on a waiting list in the order they were received.

National Computer Camps-Fairfield U
America's original computer camp, celebrating its 30th anniversary. The coed campers, ages 8-18, may attend one- or multi-week sessions. The Fairfield Univ. camps are held in June, July and August. Residential and day programs are available.

CT Writing Project-Fairfield U
CWP-Fairfield also provides two-to three-week Young Writers Institutes for youngsters in 6th to 12th grades to write together, enjoy workshops on various genres, and work with published writers to improve their abilities. Held in July.

Jazz Workshop-Fairfield U
An intense five-day jazz experience with the Fairfield U. music program director. Middle school, high school and college age instrumentalists will both perform in jazz ensembles and attend classes in jazz improvisation and theory. At end of the workshop, the students will perform in a concert. Must have at least 2 years experience with their musical instrument and a basic music-reading ability.

Summer Institute for the Gifted-Day Program-Fairfield U
This program provides gifted students an exciting and challenging summer experience based on students' abilities and interests. The courses are taught at levels appropriate for gifted students in grades one through six, covering mathematics and sciences, humanities, and multi-disciplinary courses. Classes meet five times a week for 90 minutes each. The site coordinator is Doug Blakemore. Campus tour and orientation available on March 31.

Shakespeare Ventures Summer Acting Workshop-Fairfield U
This is a four-week intensive workshop for students ages 9 to 19 with an emphasis on performance and contemporary relevance of Shakespeare's text. Their work culminates in an Informance in which the students will perform their favorite acting exercises, combat sequences and selected scenes.

The Hoop School-Fairfield U
This basketball camp for females only is run by Fairfield University's Head Women's Basketball Coach Dianne Nolan. The one-week day camp is designed to teach the total game of basketball. Drill work, lectures and competition are all geared to age and ability grouping and each camper will get the opportunity to participate in two games per day.

The Ed Cooley Basketball Academy-Fairfield U
For boys age 7 to 14 to help enhance them both physically and mentally. Fairfield University Men's Basketball Coach Ed Cooley runs the camp and his goals for the program are twofold: to consistently encourage and strengthen one's self esteem, and to teach the fundamentals of basketball, from both an individual perspective and within the team framework.

Baseball-Faifield U
The NIKE Baseball Camp is for boys age 8 to 18, and will make its first appearance at Fairfield University this summer. The camp will feature instruction from college coaches, including Fairfield University pitching coach Patrick Hall, who has been involved in youth baseball, as a coach, and instructor for several college, youth, and summer camps throughout the State of Connecticut.

Field Hockey-Fairfield U
The NIKE Field Hockey Camp hosts 3 sessions, offered for girls 10 to 18. Session I is an Elite Camp, geared for serious high potential players. Session II is a Mini Camp designed for the developing Jr. High/Middle School player. Beginners are also welcome. Session III is a Team and Individual Camp focusing on skill development position play, small games and scrimmages.

The NIKE Swim Camp will be held at Fairfield University this summer. This day camp runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. (no lunch is provided). Cost is $350 per session. Session I is from July 10-14, and Session II is from July 17-21.

Wakeman Boys and Girls Club
There's something for everyone in grades 1-8 at Wakeman, including a day camp. The girls and boys sports-specific camps include hoops, lacrosse and baseball. There's also photography and arts & crafts. Registration begins March 1 and spots go quickly.

Farm Camp at the Unquowa School
Explore the magic of woodland gardening & learn how farm gardens grow. Help with planting, harvesting & preparing seasonal meals. Spend time at Sport Hill Farm and the Yale Sustainable Food Project Farm. Runs July 9 thru Aug. 3 Entering Grades 1 - 8.

Hands On Pottery
For the budding artists, try the pottery day camp. For ages 8 and older. Runs M, W and Fri from 1 to 3 PM. Each weekly session has a different theme. Cost is $165 per week or $60 per individual day. Includes pottery, instruction, paints, firing and a snack.

Connecticut Audubon Society
Nature discovery camps for all ages.  Check out the "Early Bird Preschooler" programs that begin June 4th to help "bridge" the month of June while older children are still in school. Also, discover "Explorers traveling camp" for older kids features day-long field trips throughout the region. For teenagers, the CAS is looking for junior camp counselor volunteers to help staff these summer camps.

The Little Gym

Creative Castle
The arts and crafts learning center has an extended afternoon program "camp" that includes creative art, cooking, stories, snacks and play. Weekly enrollment allows for flexibility around your summer vacation plans.

YMCA Day Camps
Every age from 2 up has a camp with the YMCA program. The "Sunshine Club" for 2-year-olds runs two days per week for a month and is filled with music, storytelling and arts and crafts.  "Camp Clubhouse" has two-week-long themed sessions for 3-5 year olds. (Campers must be potty-trained.) "Camp Badakookala", for grades 1-4, is held at Sherman School. This full-day program includes swimming at the YMCA pool.
