Suzy's loyal reader Lisa reviews Two Boots in our regular feature "Reviewed by a Galpal.

Every month my gal pals and I get together to celebrate someone's birthday, this month it was Debbie's turn.

We decided to go to Two Boots in Bridgeport. Located on Fairfield Avenue one block away from the courthouse on Main Street, you find this cool, funky place -- little Italy meets Mardi Gras.

Red, white, and green cover everything except one wall, which is strewed with Mardi Gras beads – FUN is what this place says!

We sat in an oversized booth in the back across from the stage. They have a variety of entertainment on the weekends. (Check their website for a listing of upcoming shows.)

Two boots Amazing Pizza is what they advertise so that is what we order. All the pies are named after a character. I order "the Newman", consisting of sopressata and sweet Italian sausage on a white pie. Two friends get "the Larry Tate" -- spinach, plum tomatoes and fresh garlic on a white pie (ask for shrimp as an extra ingredient).  One gal created what she calls her own slice of heaven – veggies piled high - yum!

The pies are a thin crust with a light coating of cornmeal giving it the perfect crunch. All the veggies are fresh, the sopressata and sausage is the perfect combination of sweet and salty Italian meats. There are 10 named pies that you can order or you can customize your pie with dozens of toppings, mild sauce or a Sicilian crust.

If pizza is not for you they have a variety of entrees, salads, daily specials and New Orleans-po' boys made with chicken, catfish or shrimp.  Two Boots has a kids' menu of pizza face, chicken fingers, and fusilli marinara.
Drinks are served in a boot-shaped cup – how fun.  We all had a house salad followed by our pizzas. They are all equally delicious we gobbled them down quickly.

After our dinner, we, of course, ate cake. The staff sang "Happy Birthday" and gave Debbie a big funky Mardi Gras necklace to celebrate the day. We loved the place ... it's fun; the atmosphere is festive, and we would love to return on a weekend evening with our husbands or maybe a girl's night out.
