Taste of Wild Rice
Finally, there's a worthy Fairfield competitor to Westport's Tengda, Taipan and Little Kitchen.

If you love Pan-Asian cuisine and want a hip atmosphere to go along with it, Suzy's got your next Date Night location:
Wild Rice on the Post Road.

The Post Road revival continues with this terrific addition. Located next to Blush, the owners of Wild Rice expand north to Fairfield after experiencing success in Norwalk. We walked in early on a Friday evening with three kids who tried chopsticks for the first time, and the wait staff was very patient and friendly.

The basics were delicious including sesame chicken and tangy cold sesame noodles for the kids. The adults indulged in an old favorite, lettuce cups with minced chicken and spices. Make sure to try the Sashimi Salad. It doesn't sound like a standout but with a wicked wasabi dressing, it's worth it. The spicy Pad Thai is a bargain at $9.

The sushi is fresh and attractive. Wild Rice tries to go a little wilder with the sushi rolls. Suzy tried a Caribbean roll with a hint of banana. Different but maybe not worth a second order. The traditional rolls were outstanding and not outrageously priced. Overall, the presentation was appealing and inspired.
