A few weeks ago, Suzy got a tip from some friends that Helados Vasquez in the Black Rock Section of Bridgeport is a culinary "must" for those cost-conscious foodies (and who isn't these days?).
The quality and the freshness of the authentic Mexican cuisine are truly tough to beat and the real bonus is that the typical cost for two people for dinner is $20. Suzy arrived with a cooler of Mexican beers (it is BYOB – another Suzy fav!) as did her friends. After some shuffling of tables, the group ordered dinner which everyone was feeling that the service was "touch and go" on a busy Friday for a restaurant that seems to be a little more than a gelato counter. We were happy that all the food arrived at the same time and it was delicious! There were enchiladas, burritos and tacos with the most expensive item on the menu priced at $8.75. We all walked out extremely satisfied and not too light in the pocket. Suzy is going back really soon – maybe she'll bring the kids next time.
