Journey past the town borders and try the newest restaurant by the owners of Joseph's Steakhouse in Bridgeport.
The New York Times reviewed State Street Bistro in the Connecticut section over the weekend and gave it a "Good" review.
Suzy's galpal, Ann, wrote in with this review of the French bistro: "After having gone to Joseph's Steakhouse in Bridgeport, my husband and were anxious to try the owners additional venture, State Street Bistro. With my father in town it was hard to get him to venture away from his favorite steakhouse, but we were all pleasantly surprised. It is a complete French menu, with all the usual yummy Parisian fare.
We started with smoked salmon, a creation of caramelized onions, gruyere cheese and croutons and the freshest pate you can get your hands on. All of it was perfect and delicious. We couldn't help but notice the civilized, quiet setting and perfect waitstaff. We then had our maincourses delivered, which included Roast Duck Ala Orange, Steak Au Poivre and a NY Strip steak in a brandy cream sauce. It truely was a wonderful meal and although I have never been to Paris, I was transported there with every bite. And if your in the mood for a drink, make sure to check out there stunning wood and copper bar."
