Relax on Sea Island
Suzy went on a romantic vacation with her Significant Other and found a fantastic place to bring the whole family.

That's what makes Sea Island, Georgia unique.  This opulent yet comfy beach and golf getaway located 80 miles from Savannah to the north and Jacksonville, Florida to the south has something for everyone -- as long as you've got the dollars to pay for it!

The Sea Island Company owns two properties on the southern tip of Georgia.  The Cloister, remodeled a few years ago at the cost of $350 million, is an expansive resort with incomparable service and comfort.  The resort wins all the travel magazine awards for outstanding hotel.

The standout, endearing characteristic -- outside of the beautiful, brooding oak trees -- is the Southern hospitality that pervades the entire place.  The immaculate oceanside Beach Club, with three pools and casual dining for the kids, is a hub for family and teen activity and a gateway to five miles of private beach.

Come during peak weeks and there's plenty to do for the entire family.  That's the rub at Sea Island... high season is the only good season when it's warm and beautiful for beach living.  And you'll pay a lot for the experience.

The recently added spa is exquisite.  Suzy tried a 100-minute hot stone massage that we hoped would never end.  The restaurants range from down-home burgers and fry places to the Georgian Room, ranked as one of the top restaurants in America.  Don't forget the jacket and tie for your man, ladies.

Across the island, The Inn at Sea Island is a golfer's paradise.  Built in 2001 at the cost of $50 million, this lavish hotel blends into the seascape and surrounding golf landscape as though it has been there for a century.  Again, the service stands out as do the Old World feel of the place.  Suzy loved the free amenities -- milk and cookies before bed and the butler service.  Any time a galpal desires it, the butler will arrive at your doorstep and draw a rose-petal bath, complete with votive candles and a lot of bubbles!

Indulge yourself in a Sea Island beach or golf getaway!

Suzy's Tip: it's not consistent beach weather until mid-to-late May.  September is a great month in the Carolinas.
