Kris in Virginia

Kris has every man's dream job - playing golf for a living. She travels the country with her two preschoolers in tow who have a daycare center that follows them from city to city as she competes on the LPGA Tour. When she's not playing golf, you'll likely find her in the kitchen where she's as talented there as she is on the course.

fashion priority for winter?
Fashion? I live in t-shirts and v-neck cashmere sweaters all winter.
most comfy item in your closet?
My just a little too big jeans!
must-have for holiday dress-up occasions.
Cashmere Pashmina
favorite makeup item?

eyelash curler... the best one I've found is from Shu Uemura. Also Lipstick. Maybelline Superstay Gloss for everyday. It's a little sticky at first but it keeps your lips moist and lasts almost all day. If I want it to last all day and not get on my kids cheeks when I kiss them I go for M.A.C. Long Wearing lip stick. It is less drying than most long wearing lipsticks and believe me; I've tried a lot of them!
if you could only have one item in your makeup bag it would be?
lip gloss with color
On her nightstand
what are you reading?

Mosaic: Pieces of My Life So Far by Amy Grant. It's a beautiful book.

best tip
I have two that have really made a difference in my kitchen...
Dice a tomato or onion by starting at the top and make small slices all the way across but don't cut all the way through the bottom. Turn it a quarter of a turn and do the same thing. Then turn it on its side and slice. The result is a perfectly diced tomato or onion.
For fresh garlic, buy the peeled garlic at Costco and get a garlic press. It comes in pretty big tubs, just pour oil over the garlic and it will keep for a while. Then you always have fresh garlic on hand and it makes such a difference!
favorite recipe
Here's a favorite I found in the South Beach Diet Cook Book.
Pistachio Chicken
Put about a cup of pistachios in the food processor with salt and pepper to taste. Process until finely ground and then bread pounded chicken breasts with the pistachio mixture. Brown on either side. (about 5 minutes on each side) Make sure pan and olive oil are nice and hot. Finish off in the oven. The chicken is very moist and good for you. Make extra to freeze or have on salad the next day. Makes 4 chicken breasts
On a night out
what are you drinking?
Absolute Pear and soda.
I tried the Grey Goose Pear but liked the Absolute much better.
On the couch
what TV show do you DVR?

Of course, Dancing with the Stars. The kids love it and Dad is happy to just gaze at those beautiful bodies!
Scooby Doo, Little Mermaid, Aladdin ... for the kids. Weeds, Entourage, Numbers for me and my husband and Oprah and Greys Anatomy just for me!
On your laptop
website you check daily?
Suzy of course!
most embarrassing download on your iPod?

It would depend on who is looking... Barry Manilow would be embarrassing if some people found it but I think my galpals would understand!
In your dreams
if you could give $1 million to a charity you would...
I really like this charity called Women for Women International. It supports women in war-torn countries with education, job training, etc. It might be something as simple as giving them a cow to provide an income for them and their families.
President for a day you would pass a law that…
I wouldn't want to be president for one minute! Although, it would be fun to take a flight on Air Force One, I'm sure it beats traveling commercial with my girls.
In your stocking
what would you like for Christmas
Starbucks card ... cash
and if price weren't a factor
Unlimited Nordstrom's gift card and lots of cash!
favorite holiday tradition?
Decorating the tree and making Christmas Cookies
