The upcoming launch of the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter will carry names of ordinary people who added their names to a list that will be carried on the spacecraft in the form of a microchip.
You, too, can send your name to the moon! Go to this NASA website: www.nasa.gov
Look in the upper right corner for the link, "Send your name to the moon."
Enter your name and you will be presented with a downloadable PDF certificate containing your name and your serialized certificate number.
Maybe some day you'll get to physically go to the moon!
This link will take you to the kidsclub - they have a couple nice activities to keep little ones busy.
