Recipe for the Week: Grilled Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar
Monday, June 29, 2009

It's the season for strawberries, so enjoy them while they are at their absolute peak.
Balsamic vinegar may sound like an unlikely pairing for fruit, but this Italian classic combination is surprisingly delicious.
Grilled Strawberries with Balsamic Vinegar
Serves 4
24 strawberries, washed and hulled
4 long bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes
Balsamic vinegar
Pre-heat grill to high heat.
Thread 6 strawberries on each soaked skewer. Place directly on grill grates and cook about 2 minutes per side, until grill marks appear.
Remove from grill and place on a platter. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar and serve alone, with whipped cream, or vanilla ice cream.
