A trip to Walt Disney World can overwhelm even the most seasoned traveler. Suzy is fresh from a visit to the Magical Vacation Kingdom with some tips to make the most of your adventure.
*If your toddler/preschooler is in the heart of the precious "princess" stage, bring that extra suitcase with the Cinderella or Belle dress. You will save the cash on Main Street and your little princess will be thrilled
*Do not miss Turtle Talk at Epcot. Crush (Nemo's buddy) talks to you and your kids and will answer any question your kids ask. Warning Your child will end every sentence with "dude" for the rest of the day
*Try to get tickets to the evening events at the parks. You pay extra but you will have little or no lines.
*Do you want to have breakfast with Cinderella? It is rumored to sell out 180 days in advance so start planning your summer 2008 trip now. Sold-out? Don't worry, the Princess Breakfast at EPCOT and Dinner with Cinderella at the Grand Floridian are perfect substitutes. Call 407-W-DISNEY for all character meal reservations.
*Let the Disney photographers take your picture. You'll see them everywhere throughout the resort. Get the photo passport and use it throughout your stay. They'll capture true "Kodak" moments you won't be able to, plus for once, you'll be in the photos. Don't buy any photos during your visit, wait until you get home and order the photo CD of all the pictures. Then get the photos made for less on your own.
*It is so tempting, but DO NOT skip the afternoon nap.
*Have a tween or teen who wants to meet Captain Jack Sparrow? Don't wait hours in the peak of the day... hang out nearby and head there just as the evening parade is about to end. He'll be just off his break and you'll be at the front of the line.
*Visit during off-peak times. It really is worth it to take the kids out of school for this trip. September - December (avoiding the holiday weeks) and the month of May are best for shorter lines.
*DO skip the "I must do everything" attitude and just have fun!
