It's Dora's Birthday
WHAT: Walmart helps celebrate Dora's 10th Birthday with free cupcakes and photo cards (while supplies last)
WHEN: Saturday, 8/14 from 11 - 4pm
WHERE: Participating Walmart Stores -- closest to Rockland is in Monroe, NY and N. Bergen, NJ

12th India Day Parade and Festival
WHAT: It's the 12th Annual India Day Parade and Festival hitting New City's Main Street. The parade will feature marchers in traditional Indian clothes, two large balloon floats, the sheriff's mounted police, firetrucks and Indian music. A variety of Indian food will be for sale along with Indian crafts, jewelry, accessories and materials.
WHEN: Sunday, 8/15 from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
WHERE: Parade starts at New City Library Grounds on North Main St in New City

Free Family Fun Summer Movie Nights
WHAT: Stew Leonard's in Yonkers (about a 20 minute drive for us Rockland folk) is hosting FREE Family Fun Summer Movie Nights. This week's feature is SpongeBob's Last Stand where SpongeBob and Patrick fight to block a new highway that will be running through Jellyfish Fields. Moviegoers will enjoy free juice and snacks and a vist from Wow the Cow prior to the show.
WHEN: Friday, 8/13 at 7:00 pm
WHERE: Stew Leonards, 1 Stew Leonard Drive, Yonkers, NY; theatre is located in Stew Leonard's Conference Room but please check in with customer service upon arrival
COST: FREE but tickets must be picked up at Customer Service in advance of the show

High Tor on High Tor
WHAT: See a production of "High Tor" at High Tor State Park -- Named the Best American Play of the 1936-1937 Season -- Go see the rarely performed Maxwell Anderson Play on the slopes of the peak from which it takes its name. The Play that helped save the Rockland County Peak from destruction. Produced by West Branch Conservation Association. Bring your picnic lunch/dinner, a cushion, a sun hat and they'll provide the chairs.
WHEN: Saturday, 8/21 and Sunday, 8/22 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm
WHERE: High Tor State Park, 417 South Mountain Road, New City
COST: FREE -- there is a per car fee to enter the State Park
