It's Earth Day and Rockland joins the celebration with some great activities honoring our Mother Earth. Our picks below along with some other cool events to check out around town.
WHAT: Get Healthy with The Rockland County YMCA at their Healthy Kids Day geared towards families and children 12 and under. The day features a performance by Sukey Molloy from 12-1:30, healthy snacks, games, events, face painting, prizes and raffles (one free ticket per child) all for FREE. Other fun -- a 1 mile walk starting at 1:00 pm where all youth walkers get a free-t-shirt and first 100 kids receive a goody bag.

WHAT: Earth Week Celebration in Nyack featuring "The Parade of All Beings" and The Bee Green Fair in Memorial Park -- Come out and take part in a parade through Nyack and then celebrate Earth Day with a Fair featuring River Rowing, kayaking, The Amazing Grace Circus, Knitting demos, Gardening Workshop by Cornell University's Cooperative Extension, Green Babies -- how to make rag dolls, Sierra Club and info from Holistic Moms.
WHEN: Sunday, April 25th at 11:00 am for the parade and from 12:00 - 5:00 pm for the Bee Green Fair
WHERE: Parade participants (EVERYONE IS WELCOME) should meet in the Riverspace Parking Lot at 11:00 am; The Bee Green Fair takes place in Memorial Park from 12:00 - 5:00 pm

WHAT: Bounce Out the Stigma Express -- A FREE Parents Educational Workshop and Youth Basketball Clinic that Combines Fun for Kids with Info for Parents -- it's a unique event for unique kids and parents -- kids affected by epilepsy, autism, motor skill development, slow childhood development, social unease, peer mistrust, Asperger's, diabetes, ADD, adjustment and emotional disabilities, learning issues and development, self esteem and emotional issues. Kids will enjoy fun-filled time on the court with "Mighty Mike" Simmel, and his team of counselors, learning and enjoying the art of building self-confidence. Each child will experience and discover our Program's Core Theme,..."Limits do not define you, you define your limits"...
The kids' time will center on basketball fun, confidence building, & motor skill lessons with the primary emphasis on FUN. This clinic is a short version of what kids get at the successful Mighty Mike Summer Basketball Camps. While the kids are having fun and well cared for, parents will
spend their time in a social environment listening to our group of professionals & exceptional practitioners assembled for this event.
