Where should you go this weekend?
Suzy's calendar is loaded with great activities to check out on your own or with the family this weekend.  A few picks below...

On Saturday, 10/17, check out day one of the Rockland County Storytelling Festival.  It is a two day event that starts at St. Thomas Aquinas College and ends on Sunday at Haverstraw King's Daughters Library.  The event starts at 1:30 and goes to 4:30.  It features professional storytellers, free refreshments and children's story crafts and reading.  

Also, on Saturday, walk for a cause during the 2009 Walk Now for Autism Speaks.  A family-friendly event featuring children's activities, light refreshments and entertainment.  Kicks off at 9:30 with the walk getting started at 11:00 am at Anthony Wayne Recreation Area.

Finally, on Saturday, the Town of Clarkstown holds their Goblin Parade open to all Town of Clarkstown residents up to 10 years of age. Registration and judging starts at 11:00 am and ends at 12:00 pm.  Games and DJ music.  Costume contest, refreshments, halloween games, bounce castle for everyone in costume.  Check out the fun at Congers Lake Memorial Park.

On Sunday, 10/18 from 1 - 4 pm, visit our friends at Deerkill Day Camp who are marking their 53rd season by hosting a Family Fall Fest.  Live entertainment, free pumpkins, pumpkin and frame decorating, face painting, apples, apple cider and donuts, inflatable rides... If you want to go, please RSVP by phone to 354-1466 or email to reserve your spot and a pumpkin.  Check out one of the great day camps in Rockland.  

Also, on Sunday, check out the Congers Italian Festival from 11:00 to 6:00 pm at Congers Station Park located at Burnside Avenue at Lake Road.  Exhibits, tastings, demonstrations, live Italian Music, kids activities...

Finally, one of our favorite kids musicians will be performing on Sunday at 4:00 pm at the JCC Rockland Deborah Koenig Parenting Center in West Nyack, NY.  JCC members pay $8 in advance, the public pays $10 in advance.  At the door, JCC members pay $12, the public pays $15.  For more info, visit the JCC website.
