Through the end of the year....
What a year it was! Suzy wants to say thank you for checking us out, reading the newsletter, and sharing with friends and family.  We wish you and the people you love a very happy new year!!! Here's to a fabulous 2010!

This week's Around Town will take us through New Year's as Suzy will be back after New Year's to share more fun with you.

This Friday, December 25th, head to the JCC Rockland for their 2nd Annual Character Breakfast where your kids can join many different costumed characters -- it's a Christmas Day gathering for the non-Christmas crowd.  Meet Super Heroes, Sesame Street Characters and Disney Princesses among others.  The event features a breakfast bar, face painting, balloon art, craft stations, a photo station and raffles.  $20 in advance, $25 at the door, free for those age 1 and under.

Looking for something to keep the kids occupied on break -- why not check out one of the great mini-camp offerings.

This year, the Lower Hudson Valley Challenger Learning Center offers Fossil Dig! where kids ages 6 to 12 can go on fossil hunts, hold dinosaur skeletons and bones, build dinosaur models and more.  Runs on the 28th and 29th from 9 to noon.  Parents provide transportations.  Cost is $85/day per child or $150/2 day workshop per child.

The other neat offering is from The Historical Society of Rockland County who offers their Winter Wonderland Holiday Camp.  Sessions offered on 12/29 and 12/30 from either 9 to 12:30 or 1:30 to 5:00.  Camp is for children ages 7 to 11.  Activities include making cornbread, playing old style games, winter crafts, an interactive tour of the historic 1832 Jacob Blauvelt House plus visits to the Annual Miniature and Dollhouse Show: A Serendipity!  Cost per session is $30 for members, $35 for non-members and includes all supplies and snack.

On 12/30, don't forget to check out The Bossy Frog Concert at the Nyack Center at 10:30 a.m. Benefits the Rockland Parent Child Center and get Free Milk and Cookies after the concert.

Check out Riverspace and their presentation of the national touring show, Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway at 8:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve.  The show features Broadway stars from Phantom, Les Mis, Jekyll and Hyde, and more singing the finest hit songs of the last 100 years.  Tickets range from $27.50 to $100.  More details HERE.

For a family-friendly outing, consider our friends at Dave & Buster's who host their New Year's Bash.  Package starts at $44 for a child and $69 per adult (a package with open bar for adults is available).  For that price, you get a $25 Power Card for the Million Dollar Midway plus a delicious chef crafted buffet from 9 to midnight.  You also get a champagne toast at midnight plus a Late Night Dessert Buffet.  A DJ will be spinning tunes.  Reservations are required.

Till next year... Love, Suzy.
