More Holiday Shopping (and an excuse to drive over a bridge or 2)
One thing Suzy misses about the "city" is the of the holiday pop up marekts that come round now.  They are a great place to find exciting, new, different, eclectic gifts instead of the usual clothes or a toaster (although I could really use a new one of those). These markets can be found all over the city catering to everyone's tastes and wallets. Some even cater to kids with Santa photos and crafts. Here are our faves.

Outdoor Markets
Union Square Holiday Market
This markets central location makes it one of the easiest to shop at. My highlight for this market is the Stinky Minky booth which will be selling pajamas for kids made with adorable vintage patterned flannel.

Columbus Circle Holiday Market
More than 100 vendors will be selling a dizzying variety of wares, including imported and handmade holiday ornaments and decorations. The Market will be open from Wednesday, December 3 to December 24 in Columbus Circle.

The Holiday Shops at Bryant Park
This internationally themed market prides itself on the diversity of it's vendors and gift selection from around the world. Bryant park is also a great place to ice skate so be sure to leave extra time after you shop.

Harlem Holiday Expo
For the second year the Harlem Holiday Expo will have hip hop clowns, magicians, a toy donation booth, and a Kwanza Table where families can learn about the 7 days of Kwanza. The Expo is taking place on December 12th from 12pm-9pm at 163 West 125th street on the 3rd floor NYC.

Grand Central Holiday Market
The Holiday Fair, Laser Light Show, and Holiday Train Show make Grand Central a must do outing for the kids. Vendors selling unusual, handmade, and one-of-a-kind items set up shop in temporary stalls inside Vanderbilt Hall. During the month of December the ceiling in the Main Concourse hosts an intricate laser show that adds winter images to the ceiling. Don't miss the Holiday Train Display at the New York Transit Museum Gallery Annex as well.

Brooklyn Snowflake Celebration
Local Brooklyn merchants throw open their doors and stay open late to create a holiday atmosphere, enabling  people to do their holiday shopping . Participating businesses are staying open until 10pm and offer special promotions to get shoppers in the mood to buy. Happening on Dec. 10th.

If you wait a second, Suzy will send you her shopping list, pretty please?
