The New York Hall of Science in Queens is close by and full of fun activities and cool exhibits for the kids to check out. Billed as a place for everyone to explore, question and learn. It features over 450 permanent exhibits and feature exhibitions, events, programs and workshops. Current feature exhibitions include 1001 Inventions through April 24th and The Sweet Voiced Bird Has Flown: Portraits of Common Birds in Decline. The coolest thing for the kids -- the Science Playground and Rocket Park Mini Golf now open for the season.
So how does it work?
Science Playground
Through dozens of playground elements like slides, seesaws, sand pits, and fog machines, visitors of all ages and abilities can explore the scientific If you want to check out the Science Playground, it costs $4 per child in addition to your NYSCI admission. 1 free chaperone allowed with up to 5 children. Rocket Park Mini Golf
Next to the Atlas and Titan rockets, Rocket Park Mini Golf reveals that the same laws of motion and gravity that guide the path of a spaceship control the motion of golf balls here on Earth. If you want to play, there is a $6 charge for adults in addition to your NYSCI admission and $5 for children and seniors.
