Children's party planning expert Janine Vairo from PartyStyle Box knows how to plan the perfect party. She's sharing her Flower Pot Cake recipe perfect for Spring birthday parties with Suzy.

Individual Flower Pot Cakes
INGREDIENTS:
18 (4x2 1/2-inch) sterilized unglazed terra cotta flower pots
(instructions for sterilizing the pots below)
1 package dark chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients to prepare cake mix
1 package (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips
8 to 10 chocolate sandwich cookies, broken
1 container (16 oz) chocolate frosting
Drinking straws, lollipops, assorted candies, spearmint leaves and gummy worms Decorating icing
To sterilize the pots: Wash and dry pots. Place in 350°F oven 3 hours to sterilize. Cool completely.
PREPARATION:
-Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease flower pots generously; line bottoms with greased parchment paper.
-Prepare cake mix according to package directions; stir in chocolate chips.
-Place pots in standard 2 1/2-inch muffin cups; spoon batter into pots, filling half full.
-Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into centers comes out clean. Remove
pots from muffin pans; cool completely on wire racks.
-Place cookies in food processor; process using on/off pulses until coarse crumbs form.
-Frost cakes with chocolate frosting.
-Sprinkle cookie crumbs over frosting to resemble dirt.
-Decorate with lollipop flowers, ** spearmint leaves and gummy worms.
Push straws into each flower pot for “stems;” use scissors to trim straws to different heights.
Insert lollipops into stems.
Decorate with candies and icing.
