SuzySaid - Rockland County, NY Edition

Please join us for a very special evening: On November 20th, 2009, award winning Director Deepa Mehta will be making a personal appearance in Rockland County to present her most recent film "A Heaven on Earth", a haunting story about immigration, isolation and the power of imagination starring Preity Zinta.  Following the film Deepa Mehta will have a conversation with Academy Award winning actor/author Ellen Burstyn, offering the audience first-hand insight into her work.  Location: the Ramapo Cultural Arts Center, 64 Main Street, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Doors open at 6pm and film starts at 7pm.  General admission tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door; premium seating $50 in advance, $55 at the door.  All are invited to a dessert reception following the program.  This is a fundraising event presented by the Asian Women's Alliance for Kinship & Equality (AWAKE) and the Rockland Family Shelter, in collaboration with the Indian Cultural Society of Rockland, the Rivertown Film Society and the STOP F.E.A.R.
