FUNdue!
Fondue Fun
Now’s as good a time as any to dust off that fondue pot that’s been up in the attic since your engagement party and put it to use.  Forget the elegant fondue dinner party you keep thinking you’ll host  -- gather the kids, pass out the skewers and get dippin’!

And if you don’t have a fondue pot, you can easily find one for less than $20 and you’ll know you got your money’s worth when you see their chocolate-smeared smiles. It’s amazing what simple fun the kids can have skewering up everything from fresh fruit to marshmallows and dunking and swirling them into melted chocolate . Eating their fresh-dipped creations is almost a bonus!

It takes only a few minutes to melt up the simple ingredients in the microwave, and the fun lasts far longer.  Whether it’s a fondue playdate, a rainy day activity, or an extra-special dessert – nothing beats bonding over chocolate.

You can cut up everything from strawberries and bananas to peaches and pineapples. Pretzels, cookies and graham crackers also make for great dipping. One of these days we’ll try cheese fondue, once I can convince a house full of chocaholics that ooey gooey cheese can be just as fun and delicious!

Most fondue pots come with recipes. Here’s the one that came with ours:

Chocolate Fondue
½  cup heavy whipping cream
6 oz. bittersweet chocolate broken into small piece Microwave chocolate and cream in ceramic fondue pot in microwave for one to three minutes, whiking every 30 seconds until chocolate is melted.
