Suzy loves coffee and she loves the opportunity to catch up with friends over a cup. But is coffee really healthy? How many cups is the right number?
Recently Suzy read an article in Self Magazine about Coffee and thought she would share. Self says that Java and caffeine are both chock-full of health benefits, and Suzy found a couple on the list she didn't know about;
Recently Suzy read an article in Self Magazine about Coffee and thought she would share. Self says that Java and caffeine are both chock-full of health benefits, and Suzy found a couple on the list she didn't know about;
- Sip for your Smile: caffeinated coffee has antibacterial and anti-adhesive powers that may keep cavity causing bacteria from eating your enamel. Also drinking a cup of coffee a day has been shown to slash oral cancer risk by half.
- Gallstones grow when mucus builds up inside your gallbladder and traps the cholesterol crystals. Caffeine contains Xanthine which may reduce mucus and the risk for deposits. One to two cups a day may help with this according to the article in Self.
- Save your Skin: Self says that two to five cups of regular coffee a day may help lower your risk of nonmelanoma skin cancer by up to 17 percent. Caffeine may spur skin to kill precancerous cells and it also inhibits tumor growth.
We Moms run around taking care of kids, our homes, our selves and in most cases we also go to a job daily,so its nice to know that little cup of Java is one less thing to feel guilty or stressed about. Enjoy that cup of joe. Just remember, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing so don' t overdo anything including your coffee breaks.
