Foodies Unite!  New markets are all around
So if you haven't guessed yet, Suzy is a foodie in all shapes and forms.  Especially supermarkets, she loves her a great market with interesting things.  So she was beyond thrilled (literally it made her week, not sure if thats a good thing or not) when she passed that lovely sign for Fairway, Like no other market, driving up route 17 a few weeks ago.  Fairway is a Manhattan staple and has been for 4 generations, known for thier fresh and bountiful selection of meats, produce, fruits, fish and a huge kosher selection all year round, its so worth the drive to Paramus.  They opened last week to a ton of fanfare and advertising and will probably be crazy busy for the next few weeks.  Fairway is fully stocked with all dry goods like a regular market, but you go there for the prepared foods and salad bar, hard to find spices, oils, organics and the fresh everything.  The open ceiling and almost sawdust floors add to the experience.

A few miles further down the road, Bergen Town Center is becoming quite the destination.  Previously know for Century 21 & The Childrens Place and Gap Outlets, it now boasts a new Target that could house a small village, and the food section is bigger than Suzy's house.  She has been on a kick lately trying the Target house brands, Archer Farms and Market Pantry and has been loving everything.  They make some really cool stuff! And its priced right..

Inside the mall you will also now find a, gasp, WHOLE FOODS !!!.  brand spankin new and wanting to be visited.  Suzy also LOVES their cheese selection and the prepared foods area and of course you cant beat the salad bar.  Fresh baked breads, pastries, bagels, cookies and more.  Thier housebrand 360 Organic rivals any other out there with more eclectic fare.

Lastly, as make your way back up Route 17 north, dont forget about our staple Trader Joe's where Suzy could live happily, for a few days at least.  Every time she tries something new there, usually from the fab sampling station, it winds up in the cart.  We've never been dissapointed.  And whats not to love about a market that sells pre-made frozen chocolate bananas! Yum!
