Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Triathlons aren't just for diehard athletes anymore. The MEEK AND MIGHTY returns September 24th as part of the 27th Annual Jarden Westchester Triathlon. It is a shortened version incorporating a 300-yard swim, six-mile bike ride and one-mile run. With its attainable benchmarks, this course is designed for those new to triathlons, teenagers over the age of 15, seniors, and others unable to pursue the training schedule required by Olympic-distance triathlons.
Registration fees for the MEEK AND MIGHTY are $50 per individual or $65 for relay teams. Tips for first-timers training for a triathlon as well as event details can be found on the Jarden Westchester Triathlon website at Westchester Triathlon. A Meek and Might training session is also available on September 18th at 4:30pm.
All proceeds from the 2011 Jarden Westchester Triathlon will be donated to the Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Rye YMCA, the “Mac Angels” foundation for ALS, the Challenged Athletes Foundation and The Wounded Warriors Project.
