Jones Family Farm
One of Suzy's favorite places, Jones Family Farm has stuff going on all year long but right now is the perfect time to head on over and get your pumpkins.

Enjoy roaming the pumpkin fields with your family to find the perfect jack-o-lantern for your house this Halloween. They have many adorable photo opportunities throughout the Market Yard. Take a hayride and enjoy the views over scenic Pumpkinseed Hill or get lost in their family-friendly corn maze (open on weekends).

Pick up some farm fresh squash and try one of their Harvest Kitchen’s delicious recipes. Visit pigs, turkeys and chickens in the farmyard. The Market Yard also features children’s music playing near a small “stage” area where children are invited to dance. The weekend before Halloween is their Annual UNICEF Family Festival. Families participate in fun game and activities, and proceeds are donated to UNICEF.

As October rolls on they have over 50 varieties of pumpkins and squash on display. They also have decorative items such as corn stalks, hay bales, mums, decorative corn and more. And they have daily hayrides (weather permitting) and the corn maze is open on weekends.

The 2010 theme is 25 Years of Celebrating The Harvest. It's their 25th year on Pumpkinseed Hill selling pumpkins and they are bringing back memories from themes past. Included will be photo ops and set pieces from Wizard of Oz, Western Trails, Fairy Tales, Kings & Queens and more! You'll be able to dance on the 1950's American Bandstand stage or follow the Yellow Brick Road to the hayrides.

They would like to remind visitors and friends that harvesting farm products can be a physically demanding activity. Please come suitably attired, especially with appropriate footgear that has good support, coverage, and treads (boots, sneakers, closed toe, low heel shoes) as well as a jacket, since Pumpkinseed Hill can get quite windy at times.

Bringing a wagon or stroller for your harvest and/or young children is a great idea. They have limited amounts of pumpkin carts and they are not appropriate for transporting children.

Please remember to leave your pet at home during pumpkin season. They practice Good Agricultural Practices, and since pumpkins and squashes are food crops, pets are not allowed in the farmyard. Thank you for your cooperation.

Open daily from 10-5:30 (weather permitting) at Pumpkinseed Hill. Call Farmer Jones (203-929-8425) for updates.
