Check-in: 8:30 a.m.
Walk: 10 a.m.
Festival: 11 a.m. — 2 p.m.
They expect several thousand New Yorkers to participate in the walk and at the Volunteer Festival — make sure you're one of them!
•Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall Park in downtown Manhattan, just steps from the Brooklyn Bridge.
•Individual walkers, families and teams are required to check-in before the walk and pick up their T-shirts, if they have not already done so on one of the pre-event t-shirt distribution days.
•Team members should arrange to meet at least a half-hour before the walk begins at a prearranged meeting point in City Hall Park or surrounding neighborhood.
•The walk, starting in City Hall Park in downtown Manhattan, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge, and ending in Cadman Plaza Park in Brooklyn, is about 1.5 miles in length.
•The Volunteer Festival in Cadman Plaza Park begins at 11 a.m. and will continue until 2 p.m. The official Welcome Ceremony will begin at 12 noon.
•If you know someone who cannot attend the walk, ask them to join you at the volunteer festival.
The LIVE UNITED Volunteer Festival will take place between 11:00 am and 2:00 p.m. in Cadman Plaza Park in downtown Brooklyn. At the Festival, over 75 nonprofit organizations will be on hand to tell you about the wide range of volunteer opportunities they offer for you to get involved. The festival will also feature live entertainment, food, and activities for children. The general public is welcome.
