HopeCuts Fundraiser for Cancer and HIV/AIDS Research

On Sunday, May 16, salons in the Manhattan and Westchester County will take part in the annual HopeCuts Fundraiser,which benefits the City of
Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute. Stylists will go to work from 12-4 PM on a Sunday, their usual day off, to offer services at drastically reduced rates inan effort to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer, pediatric cancer and HIV/AIDS research. The Hair Designers located in White Plains, New York and Joli Salon & Spa located in Harrison, New York will offer discounted haircuts during the HopeCuts event. Manhattan's CPW Vein & Aesthetic Center will offer select beauty treatments at discounted prices.
"We are proud these participating salons are opening their doors to volunteer their services in honor of all those who have suffered," says Harry Giordano, Senior Director of Development at City of Hope.
HopeCuts began in 1994 when one salon in Philadelphia decided to open for business on a Sunday afternoon and donate their time and profits for the day to City of Hope. Today, HopeCuts events are held in salons in New York, Chicago and various cities across the country.
