MLK Day of Service
Monday, January 09, 2012

A nation-wide day of volunteerism in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. brings a wealth of opportunities for Westchester residents to pitch in and make a difference. The United Way Volunteer Center is coordinating local efforts for a day of service that empowers individuals, strengthens communities and pays tribute to Dr. King’s vision. On Saturday, January 14, volunteers will participate in over 25 service projects including companionship for seniors, education for youth, painting homeless shelters, artistic inspiration, conflict resolution exercises and environmentalism in Westchester, Putnam and Rockland counties.
