Here are some tipsto make your visit easier:
- Buy your tickets online. Avoid any lines at the gate by printing your passes at home. Tickets for Holiday Week go quickly, so don't delay!
- Holiday Week (Dec. 26 – Jan. 3) is traditionally the busiest time at the show. Opt for the days before and after that time. Smaller crowds—and you will save 25% on ticket prices.
- Start your visit around 4 p.m., and prepare to be enchanted. An evening at the Holiday Train Show, with twinkling lights inside the Victorian-style glasshouse, is pure holiday magic.
- Members enjoy free admission and exclusive Holiday Train Show viewing opportunities. click here to view membership options.
- Take the train to the trains! The Botanical Garden is just 20 minutes from Grand Central Terminal on Metro-North Railroad.
- The timed ticket system helps visitor flow through the show. Purchase tickets online to select your date and time.
- Even though tickets are sold in 15-minute intervals, you can take as much time as you want inside the exhibition. Arrive at least 30 minutes before your ticketed time to ensure you are on the grounds at the entrance to the show in plenty of time.
- Strollers are encouraged on the Garden grounds, but are not permitted in the Conservatory and must be parked in a designated area. Bring along the baby carrier for transporting little ones through the show.
