Meet Author Jill Kargman
Sunday, June 17, 2012

Jill Kargman, author of the bestselling Sometimes I Feel Like a Nut and The Ex-Mrs. Hedgefund, will speak about her new book, The Rock Star in Seat 3A, at the Rye Free Reading Room on Wednesday, June 20, at 7:30 p.m. The novel’s premise is the fantasy we’ve all had of suddenly finding ourselves face to face with our dream celebrity crush. That’s exactly what happens to an ordinary girl, whose life is just fine as it is, when she’s upgraded to first class and seated next to her favorite rock star. What ensues is surprising, humorous and entirely satisfying.
Kargman is a writer based in New York City. In addition to her previously published novels and a book of essays, she has written for magazines like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Town & Country and Elle. She was also the co-writer of the 2000 Sundance film “Intern.” Called “the new David Sedaris” by the Los Angeles Times, Kargman seasons her writing with a signature wit and hilarious dialogue.
