Welcome Disney Junior

On February 14, 2011 the Disney Channel will launch Disney Junior, a new umbrella brand targeting kids ages 2-7 and their families. Previously known as Playhouse Disney, this new channel will still air the same fun shows your kids love including Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Imagination Movers and Chuggington, but will also add several new shows to the lineup.
New programming includes:
- "Jake and the Never Land Pirates," an animated, interactive treasure hunt featuring Captain Hook and Smee ("Peter Pan")
- Disney Poetry Shorts showcasing poems for children set to scenes from classic Disney movies
- New short form series, "Mickey Mousekersize" and "Special Agent Oso: Three Healthy Steps," which encourage healthy habits
- "Babar and the Adventures of Badou," an updated version of the classic "Babar,"
- "Tinga Tinga Tales," which is inspired by traditional African animal folktales set in Tanzania.
