Discover Earthplace - Free Open House
Earthplace, The Nature Discovery Center
Get your hands dirty while participating in a pond study, meet one of the many animals up close in a critter encounter, make nature crafts, enjoy s’mores over a crisp fall campfire and hear music by The Mudpuppies throughout the day. Children (and adults) can blow bubbles, create chalk masterpieces in the parking lot, have their faces painted or play pin the tail on the ferret.
Learn about Long Island Sound from our scientists in the Harbor Watch water quality monitoring program and examine marine animals in touch tanks provided by both Harbor Watch and Sherwood Island Nature Center.
Explore the 62-acre wildlife sanctuary and over two miles of trails, enjoy the nature-inspired playground, play games, learn more about the many nature programs and activities we offer for all ages. Come have fun!
