Harvest Your Own Scapes at Ambler Farm

In case you’re like Suzy and you aren’t exactly sure what a scape is, don’t fret; Suzy can fill you in. Scapes – or garlic scapes—are basically the plant that would grow out of your garlic bulbs if you planted them (or left them sitting on your kitchen counter too long, hence the green shoot that eventually emerges.)

Saturday, June 15, grab the family and head to Wilton’s 200 year-old Ambler Farm to harvest some local garlic scapes. You’ll learn about scapes from program manager Kevin Meehan as he leads the harvest. Then, enjoy the fruits of your labor as they grill the garlic scapes for everyone to share.

Make sure to wear comfortable clothes to this rain or shine event.
