Celebrate a Romantic Valentine’s Night Out
Friday, February 04, 2011

Head to the Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts to celebrate a romantic Valentine’s night out on Saturday, February 12th at 8 PM.

The world’s longest-running phantom in “Phantom of the Opera” and a star from current Broadway hit “Mary Poppins” will be performing a special pre-Valentine’s Day concert of love songs. Howard McGillin and Rebecca Luker will team up for Let’s Fall in Love! An Evening of Love and Romance.

The two stars will sing a wide-ranging program of theater love songs from the works of Richard Rodgers to the edgier romantic work of Stephen Sondheim. Luker has been in “Mary Poppins” since it opened and before that she played Marian the Librarian in the Susan Stroman revival of “The Music Man”. The singer-actress starred as Magnolia in Harold Prince’s lavish Broadway revival of “Show Boat,” a performance that brought Luker her first Tony Award nomination.

McGillin played the title role in 2,544 performances of “Phantom of the Opera” and was in the show when it became the longest-running production in Broadway history four years ago.
Tickets: $20 (with a $5 discount for students and seniors)
