Stress and the Single Parent
Are you a stressed out single parent?  If so, you're not alone.  Nationally, the number of single parent families has doubled in the last twenty-five years. According to the US Census estimates, fifty-nine percent of children will live in a single parent home at least once in their lives.

Through the upcoming workshop, “Stress and the Single Parent”, the Jewish Family Service of Stamford, New Canaan, Darien, Westport, Weston, Wilton and Norwalk is helping to ease the stress and provide a roadmap to successful single parenting.  The program about raising children in a single family home is open to mothers and/or fathers who are single parents by choice or by chance, separated or divorced, widowed and adoptive. A panel of single parents from the surrounding area will share their experiences. The workshop is free and open to the entire community.

Thursday, February 15th from 7:30 - 9 PM

Discussions at this program will include topics such as building strong support systems for both the child and parent; finding a healthy balance to minimize conflict between child and parent; learning stress management techniques for the single parent; and identifying those little things that help create a special bond with your child.
