Discovery in the Garden

Fountains, marble structures, koi ponds, whispering bamboo and hidden bridges are just some of what you’ll discover on this summer tour of some of Southport and Fairfield’s most elegant private gardens. The tour happens June 3 and 4, and kicks off June 2 with a cocktail party, and all of it benefits the Discovery Museum. In addition to a cocktail kickoff, they’re also offering a fundraising garden tour followed by a gourmet seated outdoor luncheon and boutique shopping experience packed with items from local artisans.

Thursday, June 2, from 6:30 to 9:30: Discovery in the Garden Cocktail Party – A garden party at a Greenfield Hill estate. Enjoy live music by The Jazz Guild, hors d’oeuvres, and silent and live auctions. Tickets start at $100 per person.

Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.: Discovery in the Garden Tours – These are self-guided tours through some of Fairfield and Southport’s finest gardens. Garden hostesses will be on site at each location to answer questions.

Discovery in the Garden Catered Luncheon and Garden Boutique: Friday, June 4 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. the lawns of the Greenfield Hill Congregational Church will be transformed into the setting  for a gourmet sit down luncheon. After lunch, guests can shop the Garden Boutique, packed with items from local artisans and merchants.
