Annual Community Day at the Westport Playhouse

On April 14th the Westport Playhouse will throw open its doors for their 3rd Annual Community Day. What began as an opportunity to showcase the Playhouse campus, provide a glimpse at the inner workings of the theater, and serve as a kick-off to their 2012 Season, has been re-imagined this year. In addition to the many backstage tours and prop and costume displays that have become a favorite of attendees, much of the day will feature community organizations the Playhouse has partnered with in the past, or plans to collaborate with in the coming season—all brought to you free of charge!   You'll be able to join the Playhouse staff for special backstage tours, discussions about the 2012 season, displays of historic Playhouse artifacts, a make your own puppet activity for kids and more!  Playhouse tours will be given every hour beginning at 10:15 AM.

Playhouse Community Day partners:
Earthplace
Meet a number of Earthplace's animal friends, including Zeke the box turtle.  There will also be a craft where kids can make their own turtle!
Chef Pietro Scotti will share a cooking demonstration for one of his most delicious dishes. And we’re sure he’ll have some samples to spare.

Westport Public Library:
Enjoy story time  featuring fairy tales that served as the inspiration for our 2012 Season opener, Into the Woods!

Westport/Weston YMCA:
Staff members of the Westport/Weston YMCA invite you to join them for some very special arts and crafts!
