Castles in the Sand

Have you secured your lot yet? Castles in the Sand, Westport's annual sand-castle-building-event of the year is Saturday, May 12 at Compo Beach.
Castle “construction” begins at noon and builders must complete their creations any time before the judging begins at 3:30 PM. Fantastic prizes will be awarded at 4 PM.
The event supports the mission of Homes with Hope, Inc., Westport’s 28-year-old organization which runs the Gillespie Center emergency shelter in downtown Westport, as well as emergency shelter for single mothers and their children and thirty units of permanent supportive housing in Westport and Norwalk.
Big Lots (10’ X 10’) are $100 and can accommodate up to four sand sculptors. Really Big Lots (20’ X 20’) are $300. Register anytime between now and May 9th and receive two free Castles in the Sand T-shirts with a Big Lot and four free shirts for every Really Big Lot. Additional t-shirts will be available for purchase the day of the event. Each participant will receive complimentary water and ice cream from Joey’s By the Shore. Compo Beach parking fees are waived for attendees the day of the event.
