To the Market
Saturday, August 18, 2007

The Westport Farmers Market keeps the summer alive through November. Check out the fresh -- and often organic -- Connecticut-grown vegetables and produce. The Market also features artisinal products such as fresh cheese, organic meats and breads.
The Farmers Market opened last year as a partnership between the town of Westport, Paul Newman and chef Michel Nischan, both involved in the restaurant, The Dressing Room, that uses homegrown food products in its dishes.
Check out the free "canning series" that runs August - October with demonstrations at the Senior Center at 12 Noon:
September 5: Pickling vegetables
September 16: Tomatoes
October 14: Chutney
Westport Farmers Market Hours:
Thursdays from 10 AM - 2 PM, Westport Country Playhouse
Sundays from 10 AM - 2 PM, Westport Center for Senior Activities (21 Imperial Avenue)
