Making up with Mom
Friday, October 03, 2008

Who hasn't had trouble with their mother as they've moved into adulthood?
Does she like your spouse? your cooking? the way you've chosen to raise your kids?
Author Deborah Carr a sociology professor at Rutgers University and co-author of "Making Up with Mom: Why Mothers and Daughters Disagree about Kids, Careers, and Casseroles (and What to Do about It)", will discuss her book which explores the unique tensions between women and their mothers and how to reclaim their loving relationships.
When: Monday, October 6th, Noon
Where: Westport Public Library
Difficult topics such as mothers not understanding their daughter's choices in marrying an underemployed husband, breastfeeding babies until they're toddlers, or raising kids who have haute couture wardrobes and schedules more packed than presidential candidates are addressed.
Books will be available for purchase and signing.
Can Suzy count on Professor Carr write her next book about sisters and sisters-in-law?
