Resounding Memories Creative Writing Contest

Calling all writers! Well, all high school student writers. The Westport Library and Staples High School's literary magazine, Soundings, want to hear from the budding young Shakespeare (or Picoult or King) in your life. They're collaborating on a creative writing contest with a theme: memory. Short stories, personal essays and poetry submissions are all being accepted starting today. The contest runs through January 8, so the teenage Hemmingway in your family has some time to craft the perfect prose. Submissions can be emailed to
Winners will have their work published on the Library's website. They'll also be honored at a special ceremony on Friday, March 19, 2010.
