Pssst! There’s a new store in town! Vintage Virtuosa, brainchild of style setting Karen Ellman opened its doors on Colonial Green with a grand opening Friday night. As you enter the store, visions of legendary screen stars and glamorous celebrities come to mind as you scan the fantastic array of items of days gone by.
Karen had always loved vintage clothing and began visiting estate sales over the years. Her interest in the clothing, accessories and collectibles led her to showcase her collection online – and her online boutique Vintage Virtuosa opened in 2004. The websites success and loyal following led her to open her first storefront in Westport and it is wonderful - one of a kind dresses, handbags, hats, shoes and housewares mostly from the 1940s – 1980s. The joy Karen has for her vintage collection is evident. No cookie cutter items here!
