Help for Job Seekers

Our local libraries are doing their part to help those in the community looking for work secure new jobs.  In addition to the terrific seminars they offer, the libraries now offers job seekers access to JobNow, a free online resource that offers live job coaching, online mock interviews, resume assistance, and more. Trained JobNow coaches are available seven days a week, 3 pm. till 11 pm EST; all you need to access the service is a Westport or Wilton Library card and a computer with internet access. Link to JobNow through the Library's website (then click on the JobNow image on the main page under 'What's New'), then enter your library card number and set up a free user account.

You can view resume templates to help you get started, and then submit your finished resume to JobNow for critique. Resumes and cover letters will be returned with constructive comments within 24 hours. You can also prepare to ace your interview via online chat with a JobNow coach, who will provide interview tips, commonly asked interview questions, and links to internet resources. All coaches possess a 4-year college degree, undergo a rigorous selection and training process, and must complete a full background and security check.
