Lookin' for Swimmers

Swimmers are needed for the 21st Annual Swim Across the Sound 12-hour Swim-a-thon and Walkers are needed for the 2.5 mile Walk-a-thon starting at Noon on Friday, July 18th and ending at 10:00 p.m. at the RecPlex Pool at Fairfield University in Fairfield.
Swimmers can swim one lap or as many laps as they choose. Swim solo or form a TEAM. Raise $50 and receive the Official 2008 Swim T-shirt. Raise more money and receive additional gifts as well.
A Cancer Survivor and long-time Swim volunteer is generously donating Tote Bags filled with goodies for those swimmers/walkers who raise $150 .
At Noon longtime Aquathon Chairman will Kick-off the event by saying a few words and then he will cook lunch for all swimmers, walkers and volunteers. At 6:00 p.m. there will be a dedication ceremony as well as a barbecue for all swimmers, walkers, volunteers along with entertainment.
100% of the monies raised are funneled back into the communities in Connecticut for cancer patients and their families. It also helps to support 35 Cancer Education and Prevention programs to all residents in Connecticut.
