Need to jump start your fitness regimen?  Suzy's pal Jim has introduced her to "old school" fitness at Hybrid Athletics.

If you thought boot camp at your local gym was intense, you ain't seen nothing.  The folks at Hybrid Fitness call their philosphy "revolutionizing old school" -- lifting metal Kettle Bells, throwing 18-wheeler tires or doing endless pull-ups and sprints.

Jim, the fittest guy Suzy knows, says it's the most intense workout he has ever experienced.

We love what the website says about those "foofy" reps and exercise equipment at those other gyms:

"What is functional in your everyday life about standing on a 24" high ball and doing squats?  Nothing -- unless you're in the circus sideshow act.  Functional movements include carrying your child, loading the car with groceries, moving a rock across the yard, spreading gravel, opening the jelly jar without assistance from someone who is stronger than you.  At Hybrid Athletics, we argue that by training with odd objects, carrying large loads for long distances, moving faster than previously was expected of you, you will develop real, measurable, 'functional' strength."
