Weston Farmers Market  Opens Saturday
Summer means fresh produce and the Weston Farmers Market.

For the 21st consecutive season, the WFM opens its gates on Saturday, June 6th at the Weston Historical Society on Weston Road.  Hours: 9 AM - 12 Noon

The market, operated by the Weston Women's League, features local farmers, bakeries, and specialty retailers selling everything from farm fresh, organic produce to muffins, pies, flowers, honey and cheese. This year the market moves from the gravel driveway to the lawn next to the farmhouse and barn, providing shady areas perfect for shopping, sipping coffee and enjoying the weekly entertainment. The farmhouse and barn, which exhibit the tools and lifestyle of old Weston, are open each Saturday at 10:30 AM.

Over twelve local vendors will set up each Saturday from June to October, giving residents from Weston and surrounding towns an opportunity to shop this variety of regionally produced items close to home. Vendors this year include Waldingfield farm of Washington, CT; Warrumps Farm from West Redding; Moorfield Herb Farm of Trumbull, Wilton's Michelena's Baker; Dancing Ewe of Granville, NY; and Blackbird Pies of Redding.

This Saturday, June 6 at 10 AM, a Weston Volunteer Fire Department truck will be at the market and children can climb in the cab, wear a fireman's hat and talk to the fireman. Children can also enjoy treats from Phil and Tom's ice cream truck at this week's market.

On Saturday, June 13, families can bring up to five toys to be tested for lead.

The Weston Farmer's Market is open every Saturday from June 6 to October 17, except for Saturday, July 4. All proceeds from vendor rentals are donated to local charities.
