Tax Relief

Are you looking for a different kind of volunteer work?

The Wilton Library is looking for volunteers to spend a little time learning about taxes. If you're interested, you'll be trained with Internal Revenue
Service tax materials to help people whose incomes are $40,000 or less with their federal and state income tax returns who may be unable to afford commercial tax preparation services this tax season.

You need not have any accounting experience! All that's required is a desire to help others who cannot prepare their basic tax returns or afford
to pay a preparer. VITA volunteers will participate in a short training session, then be tested on what they learned. Once certified, volunteers
will be assigned to the Library as a VITA site and scheduled to assist others.

For more information, contact VITA coordinator Ron Brotherton by phone at (203) 762-5158 or by email
