Fall Foliage Cruise
Maritime Aquarium's IMAX entrance
October Only / 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays
Take in autumn's hues from the water and discover some of the creatures that live under the water during The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk's Fall Foliage Cruises.
Each 2 1/2-hour outing offers a memorable "window" onto the diverse marine life of Long Island Sound. Participants inspect marine animals collected from various underwater habitats, including a trawl net's harvest of crabs, fish, lobsters, clams, sea stars, oysters and always a few surprises.
As a seasonal bonus, the cruises offer a great vantage for viewing"and photographing"autumn's splendor of reds, yellows and oranges on the shoreline. Maritime Aquarium educators will explain why this flora "bursts" with color during fall and also discuss how the Sound's animal population changes as winter approaches.
Cost of a Fall Foliage Cruise is $20.50 ($18 for Maritime Aquarium members). All passengers must over 42" tall.
Cruises also are available by charter for schools and other groups.
